Product Designer

We're looking for a Product Designer to play a key role within our Product & Design team. We have big ambitions for our product, and we’re putting great design at the heart of our next stage of growth. You’ll be joining a small but mighty product & design team of three, so you’ll play a critical role in shaping the vision for the product and bringing it to life.

About the role

We’re scouting for T-shaped people, with broad experience across both UI and UX but with deeper expertise in either field.  Experience working in a startup is great, but not a requirement.

In your first six to twelve months, you’ll be working on a number of key projects, including: a focus on overhauling our results capability to provide far more interactive, engaging and useful insights for our customers, and working on our respondent application to make it more compelling for respondents when participating in surveys, while also considering how to optimise for survey quality.  

What you’ll be doing

  • Rethinking how data heavy interfaces can be compelling, beautiful and meaningful
  • Constantly improving our user experience, looking for consistency and high quality throughout the products, liaising with other designers to ensure designs and product feel harmonious
  • Work closely with Product Managers to help shape the future direction of the Attest product, through market and competitor research, usage insight and usability best practices
  • Working with fellow designers to help shape the direction of the design team ensuring the ability to scale successfully as the team grows
  • Collaborating with our engineering team to understand what is possible and provide design QA pre-launch
  • Rethinking our brand and how it translates into the user experience, in collaboration with our Communication Designer
  • Alongside the rest of our product team, run regular user testing sessions and research projects to get under the skin of our target audience and validate product decisions
  • Specific projects might include reimagining our respondent experience from scratch, and rethinking the core flow on web of how users create surveys and analyse their results

What you’ll bring to Attest

  • Proven commercial experience in product design: creating and shipping beautiful designs on time from ideation to launch
  • Following features beyond launch to track their success and identify further opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to appropriately identify and facilitate a range of workshops such as card sorting and user journey mapping with stakeholders to help the team understand and solve complex problems.
  • Good understanding of conventions, best practice and accessibility to ensure all of our designs facilitate a pleasant experience
  • Proficient in creating engaging designs and experiences  in Sketch, Illustrator, Invision, Invision Studio and any other design tool
  • Experience of testing products with real users from early stage prototypes through to polished final designs.
  • Strong data driven design ethic, regularly using metrics & journey data to identify problem areas and solutions
  • Experience working in an agile environment with the ability to flex the design process to facilitate requirements without compromising on quality
  • Passionate and strategic product thinker, with a critical eye for details
  • Great listening skills, and creative problem solving
  • Ego-free, and actively want your ideas to be tested and validated
  • Able to build strong relationships across the business
  • Able to influence decision making by providing good rationale and evidence for your thinking
  • Bonus Skills
    • Experience working on a B2B focused product
    • Basic understanding of how code works
    • Experience working with Analytical tools such as Google Analytics, MixPanel, Hotjar, fullstory and Pendo
    • The ability to coach and develop junior designers
    • Experience of more experimental design frameworks (for example google design sprints)
